The process of photo transferring;
Transferring photographs onto wood is a medium that allows me to bring a level of physicality into my artistic practice. Being creative with physically demanding processes allows for a cathartic outlet. From cutting apart, to then arranging, gluing, and then waiting. Then comes soaking the transferred photograph, until the pearly white back darkens. Next to carefully rubbing the back, slowly but with pressure, like a knot in someones shoulders. Sometimes this process takes so much time and effort the edges of the fingers begin to bleed. It is my practice, it is love.
